Raindrops fall, a light wind blows, From swelt'ring summers to sleeting snows, From mountains high and caverns deep, A loyal ranger lies fast asleep.
The stars alight to guide his dreams Of daylight, meadows and sparkling streams. For no dark shadows shall enter his thought, Hidden by those for whom he once fought.
He lives all alone, but not without friends, Grateful for the love of the land he defends. No companion to care for, no bonds to break, He hath only to wander along the sapphire lake
